Maroon 5 Performs on the Subway for 'The Tonight Show'
Following in the footsteps of fellow 'Tonight Show' pranksters Miley Cyrus and U2, Adam Levine and his bandmates donned disguises as they sang to passersby.
You’d think Maroon 5 couldn’t leave the house without being swamped by fans and celeb-spotters. But it turns out the bandmembers can fool some people, some of the time, with a little help from the makeup department.
For a segment on The Tonight Show, Adam Levine and Co. donned disguises and entered the New York subway for an impromptu performance of "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and "Sugar," lifted from the band's fifth studio set, V.
Since the bandmembers ended up looking more like an early version of Mumford & Sons than squeaky-clean pop-rock stars, the shtick seemed to work — until Jimmy Fallon blew their cover. The late-night talk show host has previously coaxed Miley Cyrus and U2 into busking incognito on the subway.
