MarVista Inks Strategic Deal With Canada's CCI Entertainment
The pact gives the U.S. company around 200 hours of library programming to distribute worldwide, while developing original, co-produced projects with a Canadian partner.
TORONTO -- As Indie MarVista Entertainment diversifies into scripted series production, the Los Angeles-based producer/distributor has unveiled a strategic alliance with Canada's CCI Entertainment.
The deal, unveiled ahead of MIP TV, will see MarVista co-distribute around 200 hours of CCI's programming library worldwide.
The two companies will also consider teaming up on co-productions for the domestic and international markets.
"We're very happy to be partnering with our good friends at CCI and look forward to collaborating with them on the development of new programming concepts," said Fernando Szew, CEO of MarVista Entertainment, in a statement as he unveiled the cross-border partnership with CCI co-chairman and CEO Arnie Zipursky.
MarVista will shop CCI's new documentary series Cubicle to the Cage in Cannes as an original 12 half-hour series about ordinary people committing a year to becoming Mixed Martial Arts fighters, or as a format.
Other CCI library series to be launched at MIP TV include the science doc series Ancient Clues, a cooking- dating game show called Cooking for Love and a series about people and their pets called Pet Project.
