Match Factory inks first 'Attenberg' deals
Also fielding offers for 'Majority'COLOGNE, Germany -- German sales outfit The Match Factory closed multiple territory deals on Athina Rachel Tsangari's "Attenberg," the Greek drama whose star, Ariane Labed, just won the Best Actress Coppa Volpi at the Venice Film Festival over the weekend.
Match sold "Attenberg" to the Netherland's EYE Film Institute for Benelux and to Stadtkino Wien for Austria. Match is in talks on further territories. The group is also fielding offers for "Majority" from Turkish director Seren Yuce, a crossed-hearts drama focusing on a relationship between a Turkish boy and a Kurdish girl. "Majority" picked up the Best First Film prize in Venice.
Both "Attenberg" and "Majority" will have their North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
