Other 'Today' personalities appear to be in on the joke, even throwing the segment to guest Dustin Hoffman at the end for his take on what actually occurred.

Matt Lauer appeared to mock sexual harassment in the workplace when he acted like he was a victim of such abuse in a 2012 Today clip, which resurfaced in the wake of the Today show anchor's termination from NBC News over "inappropriate sexual behavior."

In the clip, shared Wednesday on Twitter by The Daily Show, Lauer and colleague Willie Geist act as though they are part of an internal investigation of harassment. The premise is that Geist gets caught on a security camera appearing to slap Lauer's butt, so Lauer slaps him back.

In what appears to be a mock interview, Lauer, who was fired Wednesday, plays the role of the shocked, bewildered victim.

Geist is also "confronted" about the matter and laughs it off, saying he actually only hit Lauer's lower back.

Other Today personalities appear to be in on the joke, even throwing the segment to guest Dustin Hoffman at the end for his take on what actually occurred. "I'm a little confused, did Willie swat him with his willy?" says Hoffman.

The Oscar-winning actor was also recently accused of sexual misconduct stemming from an incident on the set of the 1985 TV-movie adaptation of Death of a Salesman.

In a Watch What Happens Live! clip that also resurfaced Wednesday, former Today anchor Katie Couric told host Andy Cohen about her working relationship with Lauer. When asked what Lauer's "most annoying habit," she said, "He pinches me on the ass a lot."

THR has reached out to the Today show and Geist for further comment.
