Matt Lauer Dons 'Fifty Shades'-Inspired Garb While Interviewing Cast in Spoof on 'Ellen'
The comedian teased her fellow NBC host by superimposing his head on a half-naked, leather-and-chains-clad body.
In true Ellen DeGeneres style, the comedic daytime host spoofed Matt Lauer by superimposing his head on a scantily clad body wearing whips and chains as he interviewed the Fifty Shades of Grey stars on the Today show.
On Ellen's afternoon show, the host told audiences about the film's upcoming Valentine's-weekend release and the increase of press promotion for the film.
"The Today show has been showing exclusive clips of movie for the past two weeks, and they've been interviewing the stars," said DeGeneres, adding, "And boy, they're getting into it. I was watching this morning and Matt Lauer — just take a look."
The video cuts to a clip of Jamie Dornan next to Dakota Johnson before it focuses on Lauer interviewing the two — while half-naked, wearing studded chains, booty shorts, mid-rise leather boots and cracking a whip.
Lauer, whose head is obviously edited onto another male's body, proceeds to hold up handcuffs after he wishes the two actors good luck with their film.
Fifty Shades hits theaters on Friday and will compete for the Valentine's-weekend box office with Kingsman: The Secret Service.
