Matthew Broderick Set for Broadway Revival of 'Sylvia'

He will hit the stage with Annaleigh Ashford, Julie White and Robert Sella in the new staging of A.R. Gurney's 1995 play about a midlife crisis and a life-altering dog.

Matthew Broderick has joined the cast of Sylvia, producers announced Tuesday.

The seasoned stage headliner will hit the stage with Annaleigh Ashford, Julie White and Robert Sella in the Broadway revival of A.R. Gurney's 1995 play about a midlife crisis and a life-altering dog. Daniel Sullivan directs the romantic comedy revival at the Cort Theatre.

Producers also announced new, pushed-back dates for the show, which will now begin previews on Oct. 2 before its Oct. 27 opening.

Broderick, a two-time Tony winner for Brighton Beach Memoirs and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, was on Broadway last season in It's Only a Play
