Matthew Goode joins 'Cemetery'

Actor cast in the Ricky Gervais-Stephen Merchant dramedy

Matthew Goode is bound for the cemetery.

The actor has been cast in "Cemetery Junction," the Ricky Gervais-Stephen Merchant dramedy about 1970s insurance salesmen.

Goode will play Mike, a go-getter dating his boss' daughter, in the Sony International Motion Picture Production Group project, previously titled "The Men at the Pru."

The CAA-repped Goode, who was last seen on the big screen as icy villain Adrian Veidt in "Watchmen," was recently cast in the romantic comedy "Leap Year" starring Amy Adams. He also co-stars in Tom Ford's "A Single Man" as a college literature professor and had a role in "Brideshead Revisted," where he played opposite "Cemetery" co-star Felicity Jones.

"Cemetery" takes a period look at a group of twentysomething men working at the Prudential insurance company and their relationships with each other as well as the women in their lives.

Gervais and longtime collaborator Merchant penned the script and will direct. Christian Cooke, Tom Hughes and Jack Doolan had previously been cast to play the three male leads. Ralph Fiennes and Gervais also star.
