McConaughey won the Globe for Dallas Buyers Club and is nominated for an Oscar for best actor. His episode will air the following evening, on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. EST/PST.

During his chat with Lipton, McConaughey reflected on his decision to embark on more dramatic film roles. "I thought to myself, 'My career is going well, I'm enjoying it … but my real life -- the adventures and the excitement and the vitality of my real life -- was just so much more.' "

"The period leading up to the Oscars is always our busiest time of the year, possibly because so many of our guests have wound up holding the treasured trophy," says Lipton in the announcement of the specials.

Adams has been nominated for five Academy Awards. McConaughey received his first Oscar nomination this year.

Fellow Oscar nominee Bruce Dern, who stars in Alexander Payne's Nebraska, and his daughter Laura Dern, appeared on Inside the Actors Studio on Dec. 26.
