Maya Rudolph is reteaming with her Bridesmaids co-star Melissa McCarthy for New Line’s college-set comedy Life of the Party.

McCarthy's husband, Ben Falcone, is directing the movie, which has a script by the duo. The pair are producing the project with Chris Henchy (Daddy's Home).

The plot is described as being in the vein of the Rodney Dangerfield hit Back to School (1986), a comedy about a crass partier who joins his son at university.

Animal Kingdom star Molly Gordon will play McCarthy’s daughter in Life of the Party, while Gillian Jacobs has been cast as a sorority sister.

Filming is set to begin later this month in Atlanta with an eye toward a May 11, 2018, release.

Rudolph, who was a castmember on Saturday Night Live for eight seasons, appeared in this year's Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping and is coming off a successful run of her NBC variety show with Martin Short, Maya and Marty. The actress previously starred with McCarthy in Bridesmaids, the 2011 breakout comedy that grossed over $169 million domestically.

Rudolph is repped by WME and 3 Arts Entertainment.
