McG heading to 'Thunder Road' at CBS

Reality project features drivers in perilous obstacle course

CBS, start your engines. The network is piloting a reality show where contestants drive cars through a perilous obstacle course.

The project is called "Thunder Road" and is executive produced by McG, whose TV credits include "Chuck" and "Pussycat Dolls: Girlicious" in addition to directing films like the upcoming "Terminator Salvation."

In the "Road" pilot presentation, two teams risk demolition while driving a course stocked with challenging obstacles. It's like an auto "Wipeout."

"Road" is racing against other CBS reality projects in the works, including Magical Elves' arranged-marriage series, Mark Burnett and Jeff Probst's "Bucket List" project "Live Like You're Dying" and a missing-persons investigative pilot called "Missing You."

"Road" is created by Scott Messick and Justin Hochberg. Messick and McG executive produce. The pilot is from Warner Horizon in association with Wonderland.
