MDA to offer $8.1 mil in digital funding

15 projects to be funded

SINGAPORE -- The Media Development Authority announced Friday its Interactive Digital Media Research and Development Programme Office will provide S$12 million (US$8.1 million) in funding to 15 projects in interactive digital media R&D.

The projects, selected from 55 proposals involving some 200 companies, range from new exploration in Immersive 3D, virtual and digital media to innovation in new media.

Collectively, all the projects offer unprecedented opportunities for innovation through a combination of both physical and virtual world offerings, the MDA said.

Michael Yap, executive director, IDMPO, said he expected the projects to be implemented over the next two to three years.
