Media critic joins blog


NEW YORK --'s journalism blog is getting another pair of eyes.

It announced Thursday that it had hired media critic Matthew Felling as co-editor of "Public Eye," the media blog it started in 2005 in the wake of the "Memogate" scandal. Felling joins May 10.

Felling will join co-editor Brian Montopoli, who took over after founding editor Vaughn Ververs was named senior political editor.

Felling was media director of the Center for Media and Public Afairs since 1999. He has published widely on the media and is a radio host of WAMU-FM public radio in Washington, D.C. Before that he was a journalist and producer of "World of Ideas" for WBUR-AM in Boston.

He graduated from Boston University in 1995 and a master's degree from Georgetown University in 1999.
