Peer Technologies taps Terri Denver in sales, marketingARTISTdirect's Media Defender unit has begun doing business jointly with its recent acquisition Media Sentry under a new name, Peer Media Technologies. ARTISTdirect and Peer Media Technologies CEO Dimitri Villard also unveiled Monday the appointment of Terri Denver as senior vp worldwide sales and marketing.
Denver has more than 20 years of experience in the media and entertainment technology industry having previously served as senior sales director for Blackwave, a privately held online media technology company and, before that, as director of sales worldwide for publicly held Macrovision.
The consolidation of Media Defender and Media Sentry is intended to benefit Peer Media Tech's customer base by offering products than neither company did previously, including countermeasures to illegal downloading of copyrighted files. Media Defender has traditionally focused on peer-to-peer connectivity, countermeasures and enforcement, while Media Sentry has concentrated on data mining and analysis of peer-to-peer activity.
The new company name reflects an expansion into new areas that provide customers with a complete end-to-end solutions for Internet piracy issues.
"The consolidation of the two companies' services into one platform will better support the changing requirements that our customers face in today's market place. This new structure will enable customers to benefit from a wider range of options to meet the ever-evolving challenges inherent in copyright protection and enforcement as well as P2P marketing," Villard said.
