Meet an Emmy Nominee: 'Con Man' Star Alan Tudyk
"If you ever want to feel like you're famous or that you've done something that makes a difference," the Emmy nominee says, "go to a con."
You definitely know who Alan Tudyk is even if you don't think you know who Alan Tudyk is. Whether you're a massive fan of Joss Whedon's sci-fi series Firefly, have seen any Disney movie in the past few years from Frozen to Moana, or watched the Star Wars stand-alone film Rogue One, you have seen something Tudyk has been in.
Last week, the actor was nominated for outstanding actor in a short form comedy or drama series for his work in Con Man, which he also wrote, directed and produced. Based off his real-life experiences going to comic conventions all over the world, Tudyk describes it as an "extraordinary world that I had never seen before and I thought that this should be a show."
Tudyk's co-star, Mindy Sterling, is also nominated for an Emmy for her role, Bobbie, on the series. "I think I was happier about her," he admits while stopping by The Hollywood Reporter offices for a candid chat about the latest season of Con Man.
When asked about his reaction to his nomination, Tudyk says, "It took a while for me to actually accept that it was a real thing."
