Megyn Kelly Launches Indie Podcast Venture
Devil May Care Media will produce a host of audio content around current events, including 'The Megyn Kelly Show.'
Megyn Kelly is launching her own independent production company, Devil May Care Media, with podcasts as key content in its pipeline.
Front and center will be Kelly's own podcast, The Megyn Kelly Show, to feature interviews with newsmakers and other guests. Kelly's indie banner will also produce content, including audio fare, based on breaking news, current events and legal and cultural issues.
In 2019, Kelly parted ways with NBC News, where she had hosted the third hour of NBC's Today show and Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly. That followed her own long-running Fox News show The Kelly File.
The veteran broadcast journalist touted her production company as giving Kelly the creative independence she craved amid corporate and political constraints. “With Devil May Care Media, I answer only to my audience and my conscience. Those who like what I have to say will find the experience deeply rewarding. Those who don't can look elsewhere," Kelly said in a statement.
The first episode of The Megyn Kelly Show is set to be released during the week of Sept. 28.
Devil May Care Media will work with Red Seat Ventures to produce the flagship podcast.
“Megyn Kelly is an icon of modern American journalism because she has always taken the side of the viewer, rather than any political or corporate agenda. That approach has earned her the trust and respect of tens of millions of Americans, which in turn makes her a perfect voice for today's direct-to-consumer media ecosystem. We are thrilled to be partnering with her on this exciting chapter," Red Seat Ventures co-founder Chris Balfe said in a statement.
