Mei Ah debuts on Mio
Singtel launches drama channelSINGAPORE -- Singapore Telecommunications will launch Singapore's first 24-hour IPTV channel for Asian-language dramas Oct. 20, the city-state's leading telecom said Thursday.
Viewers tuning in to Mei Ah Drama on channel 73 of SingTel IPTV plafform Mio TV will be able to access five new series from China, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea.
All shows will screen in their original languages, with a dual-language option. Korean and Japanese dramas will feature a Mandarin option and over 50% of the shows will include English subtitles.
Manga fans can look forward to "Tokyo Juliet" and "Honey and Clover" from Taiwan, and, from Japan, "Iryu Team Medical Dragon" and "Yamada Taro Monogatari."
The Mei Ah subscription costs S$8.56 ($5.78) per month, but subscribers can reduce the monthly figure to S$6.85 ($4.62) if purchasing a 12-month package.
