Menz brothers buy back Atlas Int'l Film

As EVA Finance group focuses on core business

COLOGNE, Germany – Brothers Philipp and Stefan Menz have bought back the 51% stake in world sales operation Atlas International Film held by German film financing company the EVA Finance group.

The sale was expected. EVA took the controlling stake in Atlas back in 2007 but the group is restructuring following its takeover in October by British PE group CB Equity Partners.

New EVA boss Geza Toth-Feher said the company would continue to work closely with Atlas but would focus on its core activities which include financing and co-production, corporate restructuring and rights management for back catalogue product.

Atlas was founded in 1967 by Dieter Menz and has been run as a family operation -- with sons Stefan and Philipp acting as joint managing directors.
