Metrodome takes Winterbottom's 'Genova'

Indie distributor to release in U.K. and Ireland

LONDON -- Independent banner Metrodome Distribution, listed here on the stock exchange, has snapped up U.K. and Irish rights to Michael Winterbottom's "Genova" from the filmmaker's production company Revolution Films.

The deal was sealed by Metrodome's Peter Urie and Sara Frain and by Winterbottom's producer partner Andrew Eaton. Metrodome will release "Genova" in early 2009, the company said.

Winterbottom's latest stars Colin Firth, Catherine Keener, Willa Holland and Perla Haney-Jardine and tells the story of recently widowed father who moves his two daughters to Genova, Italy to start a new life.
