Mexican actor Sergio Jimenez dies


MEXICO CITY -- Mexican helmer and actor Sergio Jimenez, director of Televisa's hit telenovela "The Prettiest Ugly Girl," died of a heart attack in his Mexico City home Tuesday evening. He was 69.

Jimenez's acting career spanned five decades, during which he appeared in more than 50 films and television series.

In the 1980s, he began directing telenovelas. His most popular novela was "The Prettiest Ugly Girl," Televisa's highly-rated version of Colombian hit "I am Betty, the Ugly."
