MGM pictures get clearer on Comcast

Companies ink affiliate deal for HD movie channel

MGM's high-definition movie channel has inked an affiliate agreement with Comcast Corp.

MGM HD will now be available to Comcast's high-def customers on the linear lineup as well as its VOD service.

The channel runs classic and contemporary films from MGM's library, which consists of 4,100 titles. It launched on DirecTV in October and has since inked carriage deals with Verizon FiOS and RCN in Chicago, among others. Dish Network added MGM HD to its lineup last week.

MGM declined comment on the network's household reach.
