MGM Worldwide TV hires Ian Hogg

Will head up distribution across Asia-Pacific

SYDNEY -- MGM Worldwide Television has named Ian Hogg senior vp and managing director for Asia-Pacific.

Based in Sydney, Hogg will oversee the distribution of MGM film and television properties on pay TV, basic, free TV and digital media platforms across the region, Gary Marenzi, co-president of MGM Worldwide Television, said Tuesday.

He also will work closely with Marenzi on co-production and business development initiatives for MGM Worldwide Television.

With over 20 years of television production, distribution and digital media experience in the Asia-Pacific, Hogg joins MGM after seven years in Singapore, where he was founder and chief executive of Theatre Red Pte Ltd. In late 2007, he sold Theatre Red and recently returned to Sydney, where he's been consulting for regional TV group Prime Media Ltd. He also has held positions with the Becker Group, Network Ten in Australia and TV3 in New Zealand.

"We are pleased to welcome Ian to our Worldwide TV Group," Marenzi said. "With his tremendous background and track record in the region, Ian will make a great addition to our team as we continue to expand our global television business."
