MGM Promotes Publicity Exec Kristin Cotich
Emmy Chang joins the studio as vp theatrical publicity.
Kristin Cotich, who has been serving as MGM's senior vp communications, has been promoted to executive vp worldwide communications, the company announced today. It was also announced that Emmy Chang is joining MGM as vp theatrical publicity, reporting to Cotich.
Cotich, who first joined MGM in 2013, is responsible for the development and execution of MGM's communications and publicity strategies across its business units, which include Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures, MGM Television & Digital, MGM Worldwide Television Distribution, Orion Pictures, LightWorkers Media, MGM Interactive and EPIX. She will continue to work closely with Michael Brown, executive vp marketing on behalf of MGM's film and television productions.
"Kristin has done an incredible job navigating the communications strategies for all of MGM's properties through our tremendous growth over the past five years. Her tenacity and strength on the front lines have been invaluable to the company," MGM chairman and CEO Gary Barber said in making the announcement.
Chang — who prior to joining MGM had stints at Broad Green Pictures, The Weinstein Co., Relativity Media and Fox Searchlight — will collaborate on publicity campaigns for all of MGM's upcoming theatrical releases, including the June 29 release The Hustle, starring Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson; Fighting With My Family, a comedy drama written and directed by Stephen Merchant, starring Florence Pugh, Vince Vaughn and Dwayne Johnson, due Sept. 14; the thriller Operation Finale, directed by Chris Weitz and starring Golden Globe winner Oscar Isaac and Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley, set for Sept. 21; and Creed II, a continuation of the Rocky saga, starring Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone, coming Nov. 21.
