MGM's Roma Khanna to Receive Inaugural Media Architect Of The Future Award at MIPCube
The company's president of Television and Digital will be honored in Cannes during the two-day high-level networking event.
PARIS - With anticipation building for this year’s MIPCube, the first-ever Media Architect of the Future Award will honor MGM’s president of Television and Digital Roma Khanna, MIPTV organizers Reed MIDEM said on Tuesday. The award honors an industry exec who has helped to define the new TV landscape through innovative ideas and creativity. Khanna will receive her award during MIPCube on March 31st in Cannes.
Director of Reed MIDEM’s TV division Laurine Garaude called Khanna “one of the key architects of the future, helping the TV industry embrace innovation, unleash its creativity and deliver a better consumer experience.”
Khanna co-founded Snap Media in 1999 and served as CEO before joining CHUM as vp Interactive in 2003 then NBC Universal in 2007 as president of Universal Networks International and Digital Initiatives. Since joining MGM in June of 2011, Khanna has worked on developing strategies to expand the company on a global scale, finding new content and managing MGM’s vast library. Khanna also oversees all TV development, production, sales, acquisitions, distribution, licensing, content creation and digital initiatives.
”My goal in this industry has always been to work in roles that allow me to cross between both current and future media, while focusing on innovation and growth,” Khanna said of her job, adding: “I am honored to be receiving the inaugural Media Architect of the Future Award at MIPCube as it signifies to me, that we are on the right path.”
This year’s MIPCube runs from March 30 – 31 in Cannes.
