Michael Bluestein dies at 30


Michael Bluestein, a production assistant and son of industry veterans Burt Bluestein and Christina Galante, died Nov. 18 at Tarzana Hospital after suffering a heart attack. He was 30.

Bluestein worked for much of the past decade at Paramount, Three Balls Entertainment and NBC's "The Biggest Loser."

Galante headed the New York City and California State film commissions, then spent 15 years at Rogers & Cowan. Burt Bluestein was an assistant director and production manager on such TV series as "Nash Bridges" and "Hill Street Blues" and films like "Drop Zone" (1994).

In addition to his parents, Michael Bluestein is survived by his brother, Christopher.

Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Forest Lawn in Hollywood Hills. The family asks that donations be made to Beit T'Shuvah in Los Angeles.
