Michael Eisner hires TV Guide Network CEO

Ryan O'Hara named to top post at Topps

Michael Eisner has hired outgoing TV Guide Network CEO Ryan O'Hara to run Topps, the trading card company he purchased in 2007.

O'Hara, who stepped down from the top post at the Lionsgate-run TV network last week, will be named president/CEO of Topps. Eisner purchased the brand with Madison Dearborn Partners in hope of turning it into a media property.

"Ryan is an outstanding leader with a strong track record in media, sports, entertainment, and confections," said Eisner.

In addition to stints at BSkyB and TVG, O'Hara also worked at Nestle USA. Topps is also in the candy products business, with brands including Ring Pop and Bazooka Joe.

O'Hara assumes the helm at Topps on March 1, relocating from Los Angeles to New York. He replaces Scott Silverstein, who will remain on the Topps board.
