Brian Oliver's NRP will next release Elton John biopic 'Rocketman.'

DMC Film — the production outfit founded by Michael Fassbender and Conor McCaughan — has signed a first-look deal with Brian Oliver's New Republic Pictures.

DMC, which also includes producers Daniel Emmerson and Theo Barrowclough, was behind Justin Kurzel’s Macbeth, Adam Smith’s Trespass Against Us and the movie adaptation of game Assassin's Creed.

“We are thrilled to be in business with Michael, Conor and DMC Film. At NRP we strive to align ourselves with partners who are looking to broaden their influence on the industry in innovative ways,” said Oliver and vp production and acquisition Angus Sutherland. NRP's next release is Elton John biopic Rocketman, due out in May.

Added Fassbender, “At DMC, we work on ambitious and authored projects with bold and original filmmakers. It's so exciting to have found the ideal U.S. partners in Brian, Angus and their formidable team at New Republic. We believe this new partnership will allow us to develop our ethos together and help our projects reach a truly global audience.”

The deal was negotiated for NRP by Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, with Sloane Offer negotiating on behalf of DMC Film.
