Michelle Kosoy Named Development Head at Castlewood Productions

Canadian Cash Cab - TV Still - 2010

The former Shaw Media exec jumps on board the fast-growing Canadian factual producer, best known for its local "Cash Cab" series on Discovery Channel Canada.

TORONTO - Michelle Kosoy is the new head of development at Canadian indie producer Castlewood Productions.

Kosoy was until Friday acting director, programming and scheduling, specialty at Canadian broadcaster Shaw Media.

That post is now filled by Lisa Godfrey as the new director of programming and schedule, specialty, promoted from director of original factual content at Shaw Media.

Kosoy now becomes development head at Castlewood Productions, a Toronto-based factual-producer led by president and executive producer Andrew Burnstein.

She follows a recent stream of top Canadian TV execs taking development posts at major indie producers, including Shaw Media's Vanessa Case going to GlassBOX Television, the CBC's Sally Catto joining Cineflix Media and Anton Leo moving to Westwind Pictures.

Castlewood’s slate includes the HGTV Canada series Design DNA, which is sold internationally by Beyond Distribution, and the local version of Cash Cab for Discovery Channel Canada, hosted by Adam Growe.
