Veteran Character Actor Mickey Jones Dies at 76

The 'Vacation' and 'Tin Cup' actor died Wednesday after a long illness.

Veteran actor Mickey Jones, who appeared in dozens of films and TV shows, has died, his rep Cherry Hepburn confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. He was 76.

"Mickey died at 2:17 a.m. Wednesday of the effects of a long illness," Hepburn said. 

The actor, easily spotted with a bearded, burly look, appeared in such movies and shows as Vacation, MASH, Tin Cup, Entourage, Bones, Total Recall, Sling Blade, Home Improvement and Starman

Jones was also an accomplished drummer who played with Bob Dylan and Kenny Rogers and The First Edition, among others.
