Microsoft and Electronic Arts revealed Wednesday a partnership to offer video game subscription service EA Play in Xbox Game Pass.

Later this year in the holiday window, the service will be included within Xbox Game Pass Ultimate — the top tier subscriber package — and Xbox Game Pass for PC for no additional cost.

Subscribers to EA Play, which was formerly called EA Access, will be able to download more than 60 of the publisher's console and PC games including The Sims franchise, FIFA 20, Titan Fall 2 and Mass Effect, in addition to accessing over 100 games already in the Xbox Game Pass catalogue.

In addition, exclusive in-game challenges and member-only content will be accessible, as well as discounts on downloadable content (DLC) and digital purchases. Game trials for major franchises such as FIFA 21 and Madden NFL 21 will also be available.

Ultimate members will be able to play EA Play games on multiple platforms including Xbox One and next-gen consoles Xbox Series X — which Microsoft confirmed will be priced at $499 — and S, its more compact version, priced at $299.

EA Play first launched in 2014 on Xbox One and soon expanded to PlayStation 4. Through a partnership with Valve, it came to online storefront Steam late last year as the only video game subscription service available on the platform.
