Microsoft starts Messenger TV in Europe

TV series, news, music available

LONDON -- Microsoft on Monday launched Messenger TV, a new content option for users of Microsoft Instant Messenger service, across 20 European countries with content from Channel 4, ITN, EMI, Reuters and others.

Users can watch and send clips of as long as four minutes from shows including "Skins" and "How to Look Good Naked" as well as news and music.

Initially the service was understood to block Web links from YouTube, but this has now been rectified, a Microsoft spokesman said.
