Microsoft's Bing continues to climb

Search results share grows to 12.1%

Microsoft's share of Internet searches continued to grow for a second week after the introduction of its new search engine Bing, industry tracker comScore said Wednesday.

ComScore said Microsoft's share of search result pages in the U.S. rose to 12.1% for the period of June 8-12, up from 11.3% in the June 1-5 period, and up from 9.1% in the work week before Bing's introduction.

Bing had its full launch June 3 but was available to some users for a few days before that.

In April, the last full month for which figures are available, comScore said Microsoft's sites took 8.2% of U.S. Internet searches, trailing Yahoo with 20.4% and Google with 64.2%.
