Mika joins VNU as sr. vp international
EmptyInternational media veteran Eric Mika has joined VNU Business Media's Film & Performing Arts and Music group as senior vp and managing director of international.
Based in London, Mika is responsible for international sales, marketing and business development of VNU Business Media entertainment brands, which include The Hollywood Reporter and Film Journal International. Mika will manage The Reporter's global operations, including its U.K. bureau. He also will work closely with Mitch Neuhauser, vp at VNU Business Media's Film Group Expos, to expand the CineAsia and Cinema Expo International trade show franchises.
Mika reports to John Kilcullen, senior vp Film & Performing Arts, Music and Literary and publisher of The Reporter.
"Eric has had an outstanding career in international media and is widely recognized and respected throughout the entertainment, digital media and mobile industries," Kilcullen said. "His impressive background and international experience will be invaluable assets to our group as we look to expand our international presence."
Mika comes to VNU Business Media after six years with Variety, where he most recently served as vp and managing director, international, overseeing the publication's business operations in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America. Mika was responsible for the launch of the Variety China publication and recently spearheaded the launch of other print ad electronic products involving Europe and Asia. In 2003, he co-founded the Branded Content Marketing Assn. in London.
Before Variety, Mika was senior vp at a Vivendi Universal company that was a pioneer in international multiplatform media offerings. He also was involved in the development of the Vizzavi mobile entertainment service. Mika is a frequent guest on business news programs in Europe and hosts the annual Eutelsat Hotbird Awards honoring satellite-delivered programming.
