'Mike & Molly' Creator Mark Roberts Signs With APA (Exclusive)
The former executive producer of CBS’ hit Melissa McCarthy comedy is now starring in his own Off-Broadway play.
Mark Roberts, creator and three-season executive producer of CBS’ hit Melissa McCarthy comedy, Mike & Molly, has signed with APA in all areas, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned. He was previously with CAA.
The scribe also has a history with Chuck Lorre projects, serving as head writer and executive producer on Two and a Half Men and executive consultant on The Big Bang Theory.
After departing Mike & Molly in 2013, he returned to the stage, starring in his own play Enter at Forest Lawn at New York City’s Walkerspace last summer and pulling triple-duty (as playwright, star and producer) in his latest piece, New Country, which is now playing at the Cherry Lane Theater Off-Broadway. The racy dark comedy is a New York Times critics’ pick.
