'Millionaire' returns for limited run

Regis Philbin to host 10th anniversary edition of game show

"Millionaire" is back.

After months of negotiations, ABC has closed a deal to bring back game show "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" for a limited two-week run celebrating the show's 10th anniversary.

Regis Philbin has signed on to sit again in the host chair for 11 nights, starting Sunday, Aug. 9, a week shy of "Millionaire's" actual 10th anniversary.

The show will air Sunday-Thursday from 8-9 p.m., with the finale on Sunday, Aug. 23.

ABC's interest in reviving its once-flagship series was boosted by the critical and commercial success of the Oscar-winning "Slumdog Millionaire," which is set against the backdrop of an Indian version of the quiz show.

While the last primetime cycle of "Millionaire" aired in 2004, the show continued its run in syndication with the half-hour version hosted by Meredith Vieira.
