MIPCOM: Argentine VP Amado Boudou To Address Latin American Dealmakers

The South American nation is the country of honor at this year's international TV confab.

Amado Boudou, the vice president of Argentina, will attend international television market MIPCOM in Cannes next month as part of this year's focus on Argentina's booming production industry at the international TV confab.

Boudou will address the executives at the second annual Latam Global Dealmakers Lunch on Tuesday Oct. 8 at the Carlton Hotel. Other top Latin American executives addressing the event include Emilio Romano, President of Spanish-language broadcaster Telemundo Media, and Liliana Mazure, President of the Argentine National Film Board.

Argentina is this year's country of honor at MIPCOM. The South American nation has become a global force in television largely through the export of its popular telenovelas.

MIPCOM, which runs from Oct. 7-10, expects up to 150 independent Argentine producers to attend alongside MIPCOM regulars from the region, including  Artear, Telefe, CMD, Telefilms Argentina, America Video Films and Fans World TV.
