Youku will take Chinese streaming rights to Fremantle shows such as 'America’s Got Talent' and 'Project Runway.'

FremantleMedia International has extended its multiyear digital deal with Chinese online video giant Youku. The deal, originally signed in 2013, has been extended for another 3 years.

It will see Fremantle continue to supply Youku with nonfiction and drama content, including its hit show formats America's Got Talent and Project Runway, for Youku's VOD channels in China. In total, Youku secures more than 100 hours of programming from Fremantle in the deal.

Youku, which is owned by Chinese media conglomerate Alibaba, is second only to YouTube in terms of worldwide viewership, with an average of 130 million unique users a day and some 240 million mobile users.
