Netflix has picked up U.S. rights to The Honorable Woman, the BBC's Middle East-focused spy thriller starring Maggie Gyllenhall.

BBC Worldwide, which is handling international sales of the mini-series, also locked up deals with Canadian public broadcaster CBC, Canal Plus in Spain, TV2 in Norway and Hot channel in Israel among other deals.

The series, written, directed and produced by BAFTA-winner Hugo Blick (The Shadow Line), had pre-sold to Canal Plus in France and to HBO for the Nordic territories.

Drama Republic and Eight Rooks produced The Honorable Woman for BBC and Sundance TV. Greg Brenman was an executive producer on the series.
