MIPTV: Pivot Picks Up BBC Drama 'Capital'
FremantleMedia announces a trio of deals for the Toby Jones-starring three-parter.
FremantleMedia International has found a home for British drama Capital in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand, announcing the trio of sales at MIPTV.
The three-part series starring Toby Jones, Rachael Stirling and Gemma Jones will land on Participant Media’s Pivot in the U.S., Shaw in Canada and on the BBC Worldwide in Australia and New Zealand.
An adaptation of the best-selling novel from John Lanchester, Capital follows the interconnected lives of an group of Londoners on one suburban street. The residents of Pepys Road all receive a threatening message in the mail, and the neighbors – ranging from a millionaire banker to a refugee – must band together.
Kudos, part of the Endemol Shine Group and behind hits including Broadchurch, River and The Hour, produced for BBC One. The tense drama was written by BAFTA winner Peter Bowker behind fellow MIP offering The A Word, who exec produced alongside Derek Wax and Lucy Richer. Matt Strevens produced.
