The political thriller, set in a near future where Russia occupies oil-rich Norway, is being co-produced by GTV, TV2 Norway and Arte France.

Yellow Bird, the Swedish group behind the original The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, has begun shooting on its new high-concept series Occupied, based on an original idea by Norwegian writer Jo Nesbo (Headhunters).

Set in a near future, Occupied imagines a world where Russia annexes Norway to control the country's oil reserves. The occupation ignites an underground movement to drive the Russians out.
