Lifetime gets Gross

Lifetime Television has tapped MTV reality executive David Gross as vp reality programming. He was director of series development and original programming at MTV since June. In that position, he played a key role in the development and production of such shows as "A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila," "Parental Control," "From G's to Gents" and "The Phone." Gross will report to Lifetime senior vp reality programming Jessica Samet.

TV One ups Rice

Michelle Rice has been named executive vp affiliate sales and marketing at TV One, a cable network targeting black adults. She will be responsible for all aspects of the network's distribution strategy and operations, including sales, marketing and local ad sales. Rice most recently was senior vp distribution and strategy.

Cumming aboard

Alan Cumming is set to host the upcoming season of "Masterpiece Mystery!" He will make his first appearance at 9 p.m. EDT June 22, when the series premieres with "Inspector Lewis, Series I" on PBS.
