Hope hangs on Doorpost

The Doorpost Film Project has announced 15 contest finalists who will receive $10,000 each to produce a short based on the topic of hope. Online users at TheDoorpost.com and industry professionals can view and vote on the films from Sept. 1-10, with the three top winners set to recieve $100,000, $30,000 and $20,000.

'Hancock' hits Kuwait

Texas Instruments and DLP Cinema in conjunction with the Army & Air Force Exchange Service will screen the premiere of "Hancock" at the Camp Arifjan military base in Kuwait, using DLP Cinema-equipped projection technology. The technology was selected for the Kuwait premiere and for possible future military deployments.

Bos re-ups WB pact

Amsterdam-based production house Bos Bros., known for its local family features, has extended its distribution deal with Warner Bros. Netherlands for four years. The companies have worked together since 1993, when Warners released "Abeltje." Since then, Bos Bros.' productions have been released through Warners theatrically and on DVD.
