'Rita' debut rocks in demo

Lifetime's new comedy series "Rita Rocks" averaged 1 million viewers in its debut at 8:30 p.m. Monday. That's on par with the network's previous comedy effort, "Lovespring International," which debuted in June 2006. In the key women 18-49 demo, however, "Rita" was up 38% compared with "Lovespring" (0.8 rating vs. 0.6).

'90210' for president?

The CW, the only broadcast network airing entertainment programming on Election Night, is touting its Nov. 4 schedule featuring shortened versions of "90210" and "Privileged" that will give local stations some airtime to run election updates. About 90% of stations will participate.

Gaynor fete set

Singer-dancer-actress Mitzi Gaynor will be featured during a special Academy of Television Arts & Sciences event to celebrate the West Coast premiere of "Mitzi Gaynor: Razzle Dazzle! The Special Years" at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood. "Mitzi Gaynor" premieres at 8 p.m. Nov. 15 on KOCE in Los Angeles.

Gallagher to M3

Video and online production firm M3 Television has named Adam Gallagher senior editor of EPK and DVD production for the firm's marketing department. He joins M3 from New Wave Entertainment.
