More 'Imagination' at Disney Channel

Disney Channel has ordered a second season of its music-filled Playhouse Disney series "Imagination Movers," named for the New Orleans-based alternative rock band for preschoolers that the show revolves around. Production on 26 new episodes will resume in New Orleans in the spring. The series' viewership has grown every week since its September premiere, recently averaging a series-high 4.7 rating among preschoolers.

Rockin' lineup

Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift and Lionel Richie will ring in 2009 from Times Square on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve." They will perform live during the ABC broadcast, joining Clark in New York along with his co-host Ryan Seacrest, the network said. Kellie Pickler also will be on hand in Times Square with live reports on the festivities The annual show begins at 10 p.m. EST Dec. 31.


ABC's "Desperate Housewives" led all shows in the ratings Sunday night, which was peppered with repeats, sports and specials. Fox was the highest-rated network, boosted by NFL overrun and the "BCS Selection Show" (9.6 million viewers, 3.9 adults 18-49 rating). Its lineup included a new "The Simpsons" (6.2 million, 2.8).
