Missy Peregrym, Nick Bateman to Get Golden Maple Honors

The tributes will be made at the Golden Maple Awards, which recognizes Canadian talent working in Hollywood.

Rookie Blue star Missy Peregrym and Canadian model and actor Nick Bateman will receive Maple of Excellence Awards at the 2016 Maple Awards, which will take place July 1 at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Peregrym will receive the Outstanding Acting Achievement award for her star turns in Rookie Blue, which ran for six seasons on ABC, as well as Heroes, Reaper, The Chris Isaak Show and Dark Angel. Bateman, who will receive the Outstanding Social Media Achievement Award, has modeled for DSquared, Fila, Jockey and Calvin Klein, starred in movies such as Hobo With a Shotgun and Airplane Mode, and recently reached 5 million followers on Instagram.

The Maple of Excellence honorees were chosen by the Academy of Canadians in Sports and Entertainment Los Angeles committee for their accomplishments in representing Canada in Hollywood.

The Golden Maple Awards, now in its second year, honor Canadians in the best actor, actress and newcomer of the year categories for TV series airing in the U.S. during the 12 months to July 1, 2016.
