Mitch Hurwitz signs with WME

Emmy winner is first major signing for merged agency

"Arrested Development" creator Mitch Hurwitz has inked with WME Entertainment, marking the first major signing for the newly merged agency.

Emmy winner Hurwitz is one of TV's top comedy producers.

Tantamount, his Sony-based company with Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum, landed one new series, Fox's "Brothers," after producing six pilots for the broadcast networks.

Hurwitz was repped by CAA, which continues to rep Tantamount and the Tannenbaums.

In addition to his TV load, Hurwitz has been working on the long-gestating "Arrested Development" movie.
