MLB post-season ads strong for Fox, Turner

Networks near sellout; World Series ads go for $450,000

News Corp.'s Fox is wrapping up advertising sales for its coverage of MLB's National League Championship Series and the World Series, and Time Warner's TBS is also about sold out for its broadcasts of the opening rounds and the American League Championship Series, according to the LA Times.

With postseason baseball just days away, Fox is 90% sold out, and prices for both series are up in high single digit percentage ranges compared with last year, the paper reported. A 30-second spot in the NLCS is going for about $225,000, with World Series ads fetching about $450,000. Blue chip advertisers include Chevrolet and Budweiser.

TBS is getting around $125,000 per 30-second TV spot on its opening round coverage and $175,000-plus for ALCS spots, according to the LA Times.
