Moderati enters digital studio biz

New division follows '24 Hours of Sundance'

Bellrock Media subsidiary Moderati is the latest entrant to the digital entertainment studio business.

The mobile entertainment company is throwing open the doors to its new division on the heels of the online reality show "24 Hours of Sundance," which starred Ashton Kutcher. Moderati already has a partnership in place with Yahoo Japan to create an online video service, as well as branded entertainment deals with Coca-Cola, Panasonic and Toshiba.

Former Endemol digital guru Jon Vlassopulos, who came on as Moderati's CEO in November, has hired Damon Berger to run the studio. Berger produced online programming for Revision3 and Disney's Stage 9.

Based in San Francisco, Moderati joins a crowded field of digital entertainment studios including 60Frames, Worldwide Biggies, DECA and Agility Studios.
