The Italian actress will be honored by the Fondazione Cinema per Roma's Cityfest.

Actress Monica Bellucci will be feted with the 2017 Virna Lisi award in Rome on Nov. 7 as part of the Fondazione per Roma's Cityfest series.

The prize will be delivered by Lisi's son, Corrado Pesci, and presented by director Giuseppe Tornatore.

Lisi was one of the rare Italian actresses who worked frequently across Italy and Hollywood. She gained fame in postwar Italian film, including starring in Casanova 70 opposite Marcello Mastroianni and later appearing with Jack Lemmon in How to Murder Your Wife and as Catherine de Medici in Queen Margot.

The Virna Lisi prize was started in 2015, first going to actress Margherita Buy, to commemorate the life and work of Lisi.

Bellucci frequently stars in film and television series across Europe and the U.S. She most recently had a cameo as herself in David Lynch's Twin Peaks and will next star in the Roache-Turner brothers' Nekromancer.

The Fondazione Cinema per Roma, chaired by Piera Detassis, organizes the Cityfest series throughout the year with the goal of promoting cultural events throughout the city's major landmarks.
