More reality for Lifetime's block

Lifetime Television is expanding its reality lineup with a new series about a matchmaker and another that follows elite party planners.

The two series -- "Matt Titus: Matchmaker" and the tentatively titled "It's My Party" -- will join Lifetime's upcoming reality show "How to Look Good Naked" in January as part of the "second season" of the network's new Friday night reality block.

"Party" follows those people who plan extravagant, excessive parties and events for extremely wealthy clients. Half of the series' 14 episodes will center on Brian Dobbin and his "volatile" chef as they plan events in Orange County, while the other seven will be shot in Las Vegas around another event planner.

"Matchmaker," which will have an initial seven-episode run, stars relationship expert Matt Titus, who matches both straight and gay singles in New York.

Both new series, along with the Carson Kressley-hosted "Naked," debuted Jan. 4. "Naked" will air at 9 p.m., followed by "Matchmaker" at 9:30 p.m., "Party" at 10 p.m. and the Vegas edition at 10:30 p.m.

January is the "ideal time to launch three 'feel good' reality series," Lifetime president of entertainment Susanne Daniels said. "Following the holiday season when everyone has celebrated a little too much, viewers will see how to change their body image with Carson Kressley, learn how to find a date with Matt Titus and witness how to throw an extravagant party with Brian Dobbin."

The first season of the new reality block kicks off Friday with returning series "Lisa Williams: Life Among the Dead" and new show "America's Psychic Challenge."

"Matchmaker" is from MarkMark Prods. and executive producers Mark Farrell, Mark Efman and Sara Chazen Leand. "Party" is produced by Intuitive Entertainment and executive producers Kevin Dill and Mechelle Collins.
