Patrick Svensk, EVP of Content at Nice parent company MTG, is leaving the Scandinavian television group.

Morten Aass has taken over as President and CEO of Nice Entertainment Group, a subsidiary of European TV giant Modern Times Group (MTG): The Norwegian-born Aass was CEO of Finnish format group Nice Entertainment before MTG acquired it last year.

Patrick Svensk, former executive vice president of content at MTG, and interim CEO at Nice following the MTG acquisition, is leaving the company. Svensk headed up MTG's recent expansion, which has seen the group go on an European buying spree, snatching up Helsinki-based Nice Entertainment, Brit TV distribution company DRG, Norwegian producer Novemberfilm and Paris-based pay-TV operator Trace.

“I would also like to thank Patrick for his role in building up MTG’s group of content companies over the past two and a half years,” said MTG President and CEO Jogen Madsen Lindemann. “Patrick started his career at MTG over 20 years ago and came back with a clear mandate to establish a much larger content footprint and capability. Taking our content division from six companies in five countries to 28 companies in 16 countries is quite an accomplishment, and we wish him all the best for the future.”

Before taking over at Nice Entertainment, Morten served as CEO of the free-TV channels in Norway controlled by German giant ProSiebenSat.1 and was executive chairman of Norwegian communications agency Dinamo. He will also join MTG's executive management team.
